Spirits, Shadows & Secrets of Arrow Rock

October 26 & 27, 2012
6 p.m. to midnight

Event Details

Your "spirited" evening will begin with a fine meal at the J. Huston Tavern and an informative presentation from the Sedalia Ghost Hunters, the only T.A.P.S.-affiliated group in Missouri. These paranormal pros will show you the equipment they use in their investigations, share recordings and stories from past investigations, and answer your questions.

Then we'll divide into small groups and rotate between three ghost-hunt venues and a guided tour of the historic Sappington Cemetery.

  • Members of the Sedalia Ghost Hunters team will be at each venue, leading you on an actual investigation of the properties. Click here to check out the video and EVP audio files of the Sedalia Ghost Hunters' July 2011 visit to Arrow Rock's Switzler House. EVPs from the 2011 Spirits, Shadows & Secrets event wil be uploaded soon! You'll get to see real paranormal investigators at work during this event. There's no guarantee you'll encounter any paranormal activity during the evening, but then again, you might.
  • Local guides will take you on an fascinating nighttime walk through the Sappington Cemetery, a state historic site and the burial place of two Missouri governors.
  • At 11:30, all participants will be invited to gather for refreshments and to recap the evening's adventures.
  • Pending approval from the State of Missouri Department of Natural Resources, which owns the property, we will include the J. Huston Tavern among our investigation sites this year! The Huston Tavern has a reputation for being one of Arrow Rock's most haunted places.
Transportation will be provided throughout the evening, but do be aware that historic properties are not generally handicap-accessible. Please let us know in advance if you require special accommodations.

Because we want to give our ticketholders the finest experience possible, we are limiting admission to 40 per evening, but will be offering the event on two nights -- Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27. Note: Saturday tickets sold out more than a month in advance for last year's event.
